My husband and I have an 8 year old female boxer named Lola! We have had that baby since she was like 5 weeks old. Gosh I can't believe she is 8 already. She is a very well mannered pup for the most part! But I will say she is the neediest of the 3 of them. She wants to be right up under her daddy, or me non stop! If she feels like you are not paying her any attention, she will literally, whine and talk back until you pay her some attention. Is it just our boxer that is like this? Or is it a boxer thing? I am so curious to know.
We have also tried so many toys with her, but she is one of the picky ones, all of them (balls included) our Blue Heeler (Gunner) ended up with. well....... We got her this cute rubber mallard duck toy, she absolutely goes crazy for! We was so stoked to find this dang duck for her! We keep it on the mantel when the others are out, she doesn't like to share that toy at all. And she will also whine until we get it down for her, when she gets in the mood to play! She did take the squeeker out, as well as the little bit of stuffing in the belly. EEhhhh that was fun, picking up these little white balls of fluff all around the house. For the longest I didn't know what that crap it was, or where it was coming out of. I did notice that day, if I came by her she would lay on it, as if to try and cover the fact she was tearing it up lol. But I realized she hasn't been chewing it anymore. she just wanted that mess out for whatever reason. We definitely will be getting her another one for sure.We have to make sure to put it up, because when Gunner gets it, he tries his best to finish it off. And she is not having her duck being destroyed by him lol.
Now this is the time of year she is going in heat, so we have to keep a eye on her. Her anxity gets worse around this time also. She stays on edge. She is definitely more needy, but I know thats just us girls in general at this time. We have struggled to find something to help with her dearing this time. We have tried every diaper possible, including actually diapers. No judgement lol. I got tired of washing bedding and stuff every day, and keeping her of my couch was a whole nother ball game. I am sure I am not the only one that has been through this right? I mean every other desposible diaper we tried, she would literally shread within minutes. Do I blame her? Absoultly not. I get it girl, is what I use to tell her. I would just put a diaper on her and be outside with one of the others, and literally 5 min later, she had it off, and strolling that stuff all through the house. I guess to simply let me know, that was a no for her! I also tried so many of the washables, that either wasn't true to size, or the velcro wasn't up to par. Don't you hate spending bucks after bucks, just to see this or that doesn't work? Well with this I got you!!!
Reusable 3 pack Female Diapers (commission earned). These diapers are washable, and comes in a 3 pack! Best find yet. They are So cute. Whith these your baby doesn't have to go around letting the world know it is that time of the month. Now she can do it in fashion! The velcro is tough! Lola now can't just rub against the couch and get it off, she finally realized this after a few hours of wearing it. I love the fact it looks more like a skirt, and not just a regular diaper. I think she now feels more confident! No more struggling...
Her anxity is a little rough still. But we are working on it as well. Is the anxity part a boxer thing as well? Because my other pups don't have this issue. They could care less what is going on around them. And if I find something that works for that, I will definitely be sharing the finds!
I would love to hear how everyone elses boxers are! Are they like our little princess Lola?
